Japan Day is an event run primarily by first year University of Sheffield students and Japanese students with the aim of embracing and celebrating all the things that they love about Japan, whilst exposing the people of Sheffield to aspects of Japan which they might not have known about.
The event showcased both traditional and modern elements of Japanese culture with stalls for origami, omatsuri and board games, yukata, and a maid cafe. Performances included taiko, enka, shamisen, yosakoi and more.

Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
A calligraphy workshop for students to learn more about writing Japanese characters, led by a specialist.

Minoru Nomata: Hands-on Learning Activities at the De La Warr Pavilion
Bespoke workshops for children, families and young people at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill.

Foyle Obon Festival 2022
The annual Foyle Obon Festival welcomed the Hannari Japanese Dance group and Japanese storyteller, Masako Carey to the lineup, engaging audience members of all ages.
