'Japan Festival' is an annual arts and culture festival based within the historic city of Lincoln, with an exciting programme aiming to engage the city with Japanese culture through workshops, interactive activities and performances.
This year’s event focused on traditional and modern Japanese arts and culture with events including Japanese theatre, an art exhibition, live koto performance, craft workshops, martial arts workshops, a Nintendo gaming event and a showcase of Japanese cinema.
The event overall attracted upwards of 1500 visitors and received very positive feedback. Workshop tickets sold out quickly and feedback received was that visitors were pleased to be able to experience cultural activities with their children during half term.
Japan Festival continues to bridge the gap between being entertaining and informative and allowing people to connect with Japanese culture in a way that they enjoy and will remember.
