A series of artist led workshops and talks to conincide with an exhibition held at Platform Gallery, Clitheroe in June and July 2012. Textile artist, Yasuyo Cooper, visited 10 local schools to provide workshops to students, aged 4-11. Drop in workshops for the public and a one day sashiko workshop for adults were also held at Platform Gallery.
The project aimed to introduce the local commuity to Japanese craft, and to offer them the chance to experience Japanese culture first hand.

Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
A calligraphy workshop for students to learn more about writing Japanese characters, led by a specialist.

Minoru Nomata: Hands-on Learning Activities at the De La Warr Pavilion

Foyle Obon Festival 2022
The annual Foyle Obon Festival welcomed the Hannari Japanese Dance group and Japanese storyteller, Masako Carey to the lineup, engaging audience members of all ages.
