In spring 2021, 72 pupils at Shipley Ce Primary School in West Sussex were introduced to Japanese culture through a range of activities spanning various subjects, including art, science and geography.
Activities included origami, learning basic vocabulary, trying Japanese food, dressing up, and the children even took part in an inventive mock flight to Japan. Learning was enhanced thanks to the help of local Japanese volunteers.
Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
A calligraphy workshop for students to learn more about writing Japanese characters, led by a specialist.

Foyle Obon Festival 2022
The annual Foyle Obon Festival welcomed the Hannari Japanese Dance group and Japanese storyteller, Masako Carey to the lineup, engaging audience members of all ages.
