Foyle Obon Festival is an annual event taking place in Derry, Londonderry showcasing Japanese culture to the local communities. Funding from the Japan Society enabled the Hannari Japanese Dance group and Japanese storyteller, Masako Carey, to be added to this year’s lineup.
Masako’s stories about history and traditions of Japan engaged audiences, while the Bon Odori dance led by Hannari got everyone up and dancing.
