The Japan Society claimed victory at the Collar Cup Golf Match 2024 with a score of 291, while the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry finished with 268. The match took place on Sunday 13 October at Brocket Hall.

On 24 September, The Japan Society in collaboration with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office hosted the inaugural Sir Hugh Cortazzi Lecture, honoring the life and legacy of Sir Hugh Cortazzi GCMG (1924–2018).

Throughout September The Japan Society teamed up with London libraries to celebrate East and Southeast Asian Heritage Month 2024 which was established to honour and celebrate the culture, diversity, history and contributions of East and Southeast Asian communities across the UK. 

In July, August, and September 2024, we featured an engaging line-up, exploring topics such as the first Japanese acrobats in Britain and their impact, the influential roles of women within the yakuza crime syndicate, and the creation and development of the Mingei Film Archive.

On Wednesday 11 September, we were delighted to welcome members to the Embassy of Japan for the Annual General Meeting 2024.
