The Royal Grammar School in Guildford offers extra-curricular classes for students wishing to study Japanese language at lunchtimes and after school. Students are put forward for a variety of qualifications including WJEC Entry 3 & WJEC Level 1, GCSE and JLPT N5 & N4.
To encourage more students to take advantage of this opportunity the school established a MANGA BOOK CLUB as one of the school’s societies. Open to students in Year 7 & Year 8, the aim of the society is to allow students to read a collection of manga and to gain an insight into this aspect of Japanese culture, in turn motivating them to continue their studies with Japanese language classes as they progress through the school.
